Nice castle and very well-kept park. It is privately owned and for maintenance and care you have to pay an entrance fee (€ 4) to get into the courtyard and the park. I think that's okay and it's well invested. 😉

"Adolf von Lembeck first mentions a knight of this name as Ministeriale of the Münster bishopric in 1177. His family, the lords of Lembeck, exercised jurisdiction over the castle and the administrative district of the same name.
Dietrich Conrad Adolf of Westerhold-Hackfurt had in the period from 1670 to 1692 the plant to build and rebuild one of the largest moated castles in the Münsterland. After the reconstruction work, a baroque garden was built on the French model with symmetrical lanes to the west of the castle to designs by August Reinking.
Lembeck Castle is still family owned
When Dietrich Conrad Adolf died in 1702 without male offspring, his heiress brought the castle 1708 by marriage with the Wolbecker Droste Ferdinand Dietrich Freiherr von Merveldt to Westerwinkel to this noble family. In their possession, the plant is still today. Current owners are Ferdinand Graf von Merveldt and his wife Catharine.
The castle complex is used today for a variety of purposes. It is home to a castle museum, which can be visited as part of a guided tour. "Source: muensterland-tourismus.de/12302/schloss-lembeck

The castle is quite nice to look at, but costs entrance and you only come at the eastern entrance into the castle park. Unfortunately, Komoot always routes through the castle park diligently, but this is not possible. If you do not want to visit the park, you can drive around the castle to the north, passing the park's closed west entrance.
