The Marburg Castle is one of the most striking buildings in the city of Marburg. It was built as a castle in the 11th century and is of great historical importance. As a museum, it is now a place for cultural education. There are concerts, weddings and guided tours. A footpath leads from the old town up to the castle in about 18 minutes.
It is closed on Mondays
April to October is open Tue to Sun between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
November to March between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m
There are public guided tours on Sundays at 3 p.m. and they are chargeable
