The chapel, some Gothic architectural elements of which appear to date back to the 14th century, is the last vestige of the disappeared village of Mettersbach.
The village was last mentioned in 1441 and no longer appears on a map of 1576, so it was destroyed during one of the many conflicts between these two dates.
The chapel in turn was seriously damaged on several occasions, the last time during the 14-18 War.
The last restoration dates from 1983, when management of the chapel passed to the Saint Martin chapel association.
Open from May to October every Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
