Tsoutsouras or Tsoutsouros (from the Venetian word Zuzzuro) is located 63 km south of Heraklion, at the mouth of the impressive Mindris Gorge. It was built on the site of the ancient city of Inatos, which was the port of Priansos (near the village of Kasteliana). More precisely, Tsoutsouras consists of the two merged settlements of Pera Tsoutsouros and Tsoutsouros, which together form the port of Arkalohori today. The area is very well-organized and developed for tourism, yet it remains a destination for a peaceful holiday.
