One of the largest crane resting places in Germany is located adjacent to the scenic village of Gossmar. The observation tower on the Freesdorfer Wiesen, built in 1996, enables visitors to observe the cranes at dusk from the end of July to the beginning of November.heideblick.de/index/object.php?mandat=48649

From the observation tower at Borcheltsbusch you have a wonderful view over meadows and fields. We were able to observe numerous birds. A crane and a great egret were staring through the reeds, grey geese and lapwings were in the meadow. It was accompanied by the singing of nightingales and yellowhammers.
