The slate slabs on the slope consist mostly of greenish chlorite and amphibolite slates. The rock gets its green color mainly from the mineral chlorite, which is increasingly enriched in individual layers. The light layers of the slate mainly consist of the minerals quartz and feldspars, which show stronger folds here on a small scale. Every now and then, very dark green areas show up with small jagged edges sticking out in one direction. These are so-called harnesses, i. H. Sliding surfaces on which two packages of rock have shifted and left these peaks as a pattern. In addition, fluid phases that penetrated these sliding surfaces were responsible for the high concentration of chlorite minerals. (Source: Wikinger Reisen)
