Red Deer Enclosure

Today the largest mammal in our homeland. It lives in packs of sometimes more than 50 animals, strictly separated according to gender.
The female packs live in pure family groups. Basically, they are led by an experienced, female adult. Only during the rut do deer and hinds come together; usually only one strong deer mates with all the female animals in the pack.

The animals can be observed in a very large and spacious enclosure.

🦌 What is red deer?• The term "red deer" refers to the red deer and its female relatives, the hinds.
• It is the largest wild game species in Germany.
• Size: Stags up to 1.4m at the shoulder
• Weight: Males up to 250kg, females approximately 100–130kg
• Antlers: Only males have antlers – up to 12 points are not uncommon. They are shed and regrown every year.
