Nonnenwerth (formerly also Rolandswerth) is a Rhine island between Rolandswerth and Bad Honnef (river kilometer 642) opposite the island of Grafenwerth.

The island is intermittently since the beginning of the 12th century site of a monastery, founded by the Benedictine nuns and was adopted in 1854 by the Franciscan nuns. Since then, the monastery also houses a Franciscan educational institution, which began as a girls' boarding school and later became a general secondary school.

The island of Nonnenwerth is about two kilometers long and almost 180 meters wide at its widest point. The main part with the monastery and school facilities is located in the area of the left bank town Remagen in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler. Within Remagens the main part with the place of residence island Nonnenwerth is to be assigned to the local district Rolandswerth, the southern part at height of Rolandseck the local district Oberwinter. The narrow, about seven meters wide and 300 meters long northernmost part of the island is located on the territory of the Bonn district of Mehlem in the district of Bad Godesberg and thus belongs to North Rhine-Westphalia. On the other side of the Rhine (main stream) is the shorter but much wider island of Grafenwerth, which belongs to the urban area of Bad Honnef. Between both islands runs the common border of the already mentioned countries. South of Nonnenwerth sets at river kilometer 640 a Rhine ferry from Bad Honnefer Lohfeld over to Rolandseck.
