It is important for the natural balance of the forest.In Germany, the pine marten is found primarily in large deciduous and mixed forests, e.g., in the low mountain ranges (especially the Harz Mountains), the Black Forest, and the Bavarian Forest.Because it is very shy and nocturnal, it is rarely seen.
