Take this off-road route back to Wells-next-the-Sea: take NCN1 route signposted on the left as you come into Wighton village. It's a rough and bumpy gravel surface, uphill for about the first half; best suited to MTB riders, but fun to be traffic-free through farmland and with great views of Wells and the coast (including offshore windfarms), as you start to descend into the town.
