The Eisenberg town hall, which stands in the south-west corner of the market square, was first mentioned in 1576. In the 16th century there were several renaissance-style conversions. In 1702/1703 the town hall tower was raised and a bay window was added. In 1999 the city won the federal prize for the most beautiful town hall.

The construction of the town hall was probably started soon after the town charter was granted (1274). Only the cellars are visible from this time. In 1593 the building was renovated and expanded, as indicated by inscriptions in the anteroom to the mayor's room and above the western gate entrance.

The town coat of arms with the year 1578 is carved in sandstone above the entrance portal. The large tower was added to in its present form in 1702. The north town hall extension dates from 1912. The town hall is still the seat of the city administration today. Instead of the planting bowl in the foreground of the photo, there used to be a war memorial to commemorate the Franco-German war of 1870/71. It was destroyed after World War II.
