Information about this town hall: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadhuis_van_Oudewater
July 1, 2025
The monumental town hall from 1588, built after the destruction by the Spanish army, is still in use today. The Furies painting 'The Murder of Oudewater' is iconic. A beautiful element of this town hall is the bell with swinging bell, which is located on the roof. In the past, this was used to announce council meetings and court hearings. Did you know that this is also the oldest documented stork's nest in the Netherlands? Namely on the chimney of the town hall.

First stop on the triangular course. Oudewater is a historic gem with a closed 16th-century cityscape. Refreshments.
