Mystras Castle Ruins

The climb is rewarded by a magnificent view.

If you do not want to ascend from the very bottom to the castle, first visit the lower part of the complex (Main Gate) and then drive to the upper entrance (Fortress Gate) and visit the upper part of the complex. The ascent to the castle takes about 20 minutes from the upper entrance.

Mystras or Mistra (Greek Μυστράς) is a Byzantine ruined city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site near the village of the same name in Greece, northwest of Sparta on a hill in front of the Taygetos Mountains.
