      Take your time up the ascent and you will admire the olive groves, and maybe spy the remnants of the old Route Royale, the salt road that linked Nice and the coast to Piedmont and the Dukes of Savoy in Turin.

        Located near Nice, the Col de Braus is one of the ideal playgrounds in the hinterland. Located at the foot of Turini (you can access it via a fork 1km from the summit). Its mythical laces and difficult slopes will take you to 1000m before turning around or diving into Sospel for the more seasoned. On the practical side, a bakery well known to cyclists in the region will allow you to refuel at the foot of the pass in the village of Escarène in order to fill up on energy.
