It serves as a vital natural space, preserving endangered wildlife habitats, native grasslands, and wildflowers. The park also supports efforts in ecological restoration and education, making it a key site for conservation work. Managed by the Great Plains Restoration Council, the park represents an ongoing commitment to protecting one of the last remaining prairies in the region.
