Since July 2022, the entire stretch has been open to traffic again. Direction Solingen to the end with new asphalt, which rolls great.
Coming from Wuppertal/Remscheid it is slightly downhill. Very comfortable to drive.
Personally, I find the other direction quite tough, because it's always 1-2% uphill. You can't see it, but you can feel it.
