This aqueduct serves the Mariner Canal, also known as the Carbur Canal, which connected Camprodon with Sant Pau de Segúries to carry the waters of the Ter. It is located at the beginning of the road that connects the two towns and that allows you to avoid the road, which is very busy.

This mountain cut is an old open-pit carbide mine.
Carbide was used as a light source.

Exploitation stopped at the beginning of the 20th century, when carbide was losing interest in the use of electricity.

Towards 1940 the mine was reopened, but its low profitability caused it to be permanently abandoned.

The carbide bridge canal is a work of the municipality of Camprodon (Ripollès) included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

This industrial canal still in use closes an old quarry. It is of the same type as the existing ones in Can Badia and Can Noguera. These industrial canals are part of the most immediate industrial history of the region. Largely linked to the process of industrialization of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
