A short break is in order during a hike on the trails in Plitvice Lakes National Park. The hiking program is supplemented by a ferry ride, because otherwise you won't get to the other shore. The ride is included in the national park entrance fee. It is important to choose the right boat, as one only crosses to the other shore for a short distance, the other travels a good stretch further across the lake.

You should be a bit careful here, as two electric ferries dock here. One towards the exit and the other towards the large picnic meadow.
