The plague raged in Obing in the 14th and 17th centuries. Hundreds of people were killed in one day. These were buried far away from people's dwellings in the forest to avoid further contamination. This chapel was built for them. The sentence that is written in the plague chapel says it all: "The misery caused by war, hunger, high prices and the plague is so great that no pen is able to describe it."
A hundred meters further east, hidden in the forest, is the actual plague cemetery. You can still recognize him today by a large cross.
