This textile colony dates from 1923, when it was built from an old thread mill. The modernist-style project was supervised by Antoni Gaudí and covers an area of 140,000 m2. It includes the factory, an inn with nine semi-detached houses, four houses for managers, gardens, a sports area, a ditch, a church and a farmhouse.

The colony, which covers 140,000 m2, is made up of the factory, an inn with nine terraced houses on either side, with three floors and an attic and semicircular and lowered arch openings, a row of 4 houses for to leaders, gardens, a sports area, a ditch, a church and a farmhouse. The whole colony is built of modernist-style faceted river stone, which blends in perfectly with nature.

      Other names:

      Hairy Colony, Conanglell, Say

      Observations:

The various buildings in the colony are abandoned and in the process of being demolished and the gardens are mostly neglected, so it is about to lose a first-rate architectural and urban development. It needs to be rehabilitated urgently.

      Historical data:

In 1859 a tannery was established, which later became a spinning mill. It passed into the hands of different owners, the last of whom, Calvet, renovated buildings and houses and built a new bridge in 1923. The project was supervised by Gaudí himself, who had the model of the church changed. several times. In 1928 Calvet collapsed and the works were stopped. In 1930 it was bought by the Ymbern company and put into operation in 1931. In 1970 there were 144 inhabitants. From 1975 onwards, it gradually began to be abandoned, as the inhabitants bought houses in Torelló. The inhabitants of the colony came from the town of Priego, in Córdoba.

      History:

      1923-1931

      Access:

Easy. Access from Torelló via the Matabosch estate and the Pelut bridge.
