A pleasant and pretty city, on a human scale, just waiting to be explored

From Henri IV to Jean Moulin, Chartres is a city full of history. In turn religious capital, political then military, Chartres has crossed the centuries and if the city has lost its importance at the national level in recent decades, it has managed to preserve the traces of its past to the delight of visitors. The Notre-Dame de Chartres cathedral is a perfect example.

The city is idyllically situated on the Eure. The historic city center is absolutely worth seeing. Above all, the towering cathedral, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage, is worth a visit.
