    Hiking

You should only enter the dam wall if you have a head for heights. The hike to the Alm (small Tibet) is worth it. There is a lot to discover like plants or animals

    Hiking

The 186 m high, 506 m long and 7 m wide dam wall at the crown was completed in 1986, making it the second largest in Austria. The rearmost part of the Zillergrund is called Zillergründl, which is why the reservoir built there also bears this name.

    Hiking

One of the five reservoirs in the Zillertal is located at 1,850 m above sea level, the Zillergründl reservoir or Zillergrund reservoir, built in the 1980s.
A toll road (€8) leads from Mayrhofen to the reservoir. However, you cannot drive directly up to the reservoir. The last parking lot is in the hamlet of Bärenbad. Here at the latest you have to change to a bus. This will take you to the dam at the lake.
