Black sand beach with breakwaters forming small coves. Although located behind an industrial area there is a superb view to Vesuvius volcano and to the Rovigliano rocks just offshore, with the ruins of a medieval watchtower. The short walk from a free parking area can attract local beachgoers, like the ancient Romans who ran here in 79 AD trying to escape from the volcano eruption. The ruins of Pompeii are about 3 miles within a walking distance.
