Best Hikes to Finding Peace – Chair Circle Installation at the Mundingen Courthouse

Tips

  • Peace and strife play an important role in our lives. How opposing these forces work is clear here. On the side of the strife, the chairs are mixed up, without any relation to each other. A harmonious feeling cannot arise.

On the side of peace, the chairs are arranged in a large circle. Here you can find peace and experience the importance of peace. May there be peace forever like a circle that has no end.

  • Peace is a well-rounded affair - this is one of the messages that is to come from the fourth station of the Life Horizon Trail in Mundingen, which was completed on Tuesday evening by local volunteers. The group around the local mayor Winfried Wohlleb with Kurt Kirschbaum, Roland Schmitz, Rolf Scherb, Hans-Martin Mayer, Helmut Haydt and Alfred Leicht has recently spread fine limestone gravel over the two chair circles and the connecting paths, accompanied by a very unusual light: Dark ones kept coming Rain clouds, and in between the golden evening sun, which recently gave rise to the beginning of a rainbow over the district court.

"Finding Peace" is the fourth installation in the concept by the Tübingen artist Martin Burchard, which could be realized with financial support from Ehingen entrepreneurs and local commitment: 60 chairs made of galvanized steel and planed oak, 28 of which are arranged in a circle, the 32 others wild confused. If the latter symbolize conflict situations and strife because you cannot look yourself in the face, the circle stands for harmony. The small gaps in the circle are well known: This is also how people in wheelchairs should find their place in the peaceful round.
