    The oldest church in Kampen and also the most striking feature along the IJsselfront: the Bovenkerk, also called St. Nicolaaskerk. This large cruciform Gothic basilica was built in the 14th century. The imposing Bovenkerk has a steeple with bells cast by bell founder Geert van Wou in 1481/1482.
