The old clay pits can still be seen today and you can still find grey clay, but it is interspersed with loam. Today, no potter or ceramicist goes to the trouble of cleaning this clay and separating it from the loam. The accumulation of this clay in this region is interesting, as many potters also come from Marjoss and Steinau and still produce here in Steinau and Marjoss.
