The beach is part of a strip of sand that separates the lagoon from the sea. It features a well-developed dune system with rare flora.
The area is considered one of the few places in Europe that has remained largely untouched by human intervention. There are no large hotels directly on the water, which makes the beach very quiet and spacious.

Since the beach borders directly on the Kotychi Strofylia Wetlands National Park, it's an excellent spot for observing migratory birds like flamingos, especially in spring.
The long sandy beach is ideal for swimming, but its location often makes it feel isolated and wild.
The area is part of the Natura 2000 network and is protected under the Ramsar Convention. Visitors are asked to be mindful of protecting the fragile dunes.
The best access is via dirt tracks from the surrounding villages, such as Areti or Lechaina.
