Road cycling
This is one of several sections where Interstate 8 is the only road for hundreds of miles to cross the desert. Even the frontage road is missing here, so bikes have to share the freeway (shoulder). A few miles after crossing the pass in either direction are exits to continue on less dangerous routes.
