The Spantekow Fortress is located on an artificially created island with a moat north of the town of the same name. The castle complex probably dates from the 12th century and has been expanded over the years. A large fortress was built, of which only two bastions, the gate and the foundation walls of other defensive systems have survived today. Inside is a castle building that was renovated in 2012. In 1999 Kaspar Freiherr von Harnier, grandson of Hans Bone von Schwerin, bought the castle back. It is therefore back in family ownership.
