Schleuse bei Neckarzimmern

Is well on the way from Hassmersheim to Mosbach and vice versa. You can then cross them and look a bit at the lock operation

The barrage Neckarzimmern is located on the Neckar in Baden-Württemberg. It is crossed by a weir, which is also used as a bike path. On the southern Neckar side is the district Haßmersheim.
The barrage consists of three defense fields with five structures. The entire facility is spanned to 140 meters by a approximately two and a half meters wide, built in trough construction fortified. It is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Route and is frequented by cyclists as well as by pedestrians.
The strongly renovation-requiring jetty was completely replaced during the summer holidays 2013. Instead of an asphalt surface, a grid is now in use to prevent the deposition of ice and snow.
The barrage is seen from the Rhine, the ninth plant.

Watching ships at the locks

Beautiful view of Hornberg Castle and the Neckarzimmern vineyards. Perfect place to change the Neckar side and to watch ships lock.

On the lock you have a great view of the Neckar, Hornberg Castle and the Neckar Valley to Guttenberg Castle! Beautiful in wonderful weather

Only partially suitable for people with fear of heights.

Perfect place to change the Neckarseite. The south and north sides have to be overcome by a staircase, but on which rails are used for pushing bicycles and prams.

A very impressive building.
