Hiking

The Ruined Castle is a natural rock formation with stunning 360 degree views in the middle of the Blue Mountains World Heritage area - overlooking Jamison Valley, Cedar Creek Valley, Three Sisters and the Katoomba rim.
It is possible to start the walk arriving by train at Katoomba station, then via the Furber steps (Scenic World), Federal Pass, Landslide and Ruined Castle track (22km return). Or arriving by car (Golden Stairs Car Park) via the Golden Stairs down into the Jamison Valley onto the Ruined Castle track (7km return).
