The Ida monument, located below Liebenstein Castle, was erected in 1854 by Duke Bernhard II of Saxony-Meiningen as a token of gratitude to his sister Ida.
After the Second World War, the memorial was destroyed except for the stele. In 2004, the monument was restored to the way it was built by supporters and sponsors. Princess Ida, herself a mother of six, was very popular because of her popularity and popular support.
On the front of the Gothic-style stele is a marble relief portrait of Duchess Ida. Underneath is the quote "What has passed does not return, but it shone down brightly, shines back for a long time."
