Cycling

The chapel was founded in 1150 by the lords of Sinderen Castle and built of wood. The village of Sinderen emerged a kilometer away in the 13th century. The chapel was used by the lords of the castle and the surrounding rural population. The building was struck by lightning in 1660, but rebuilt in stone in 1662 with the help of collections from the neighboring communities. This is indicated on the gable stone above the entrance, with the inscription SVM RAEDIFICATVM 1662.
