La Farga de Bebié is an old textile colony, founded in 1895 by the Swiss citizen Edmond Bebié, which is why it was also known as the "Swiss colony".

The colony is located in a very pronounced meander of the River Ter and even before the colony was built the place had a notable industrial past, with an 18th century iron forge and later a flour mill.

With the arrival of the Swiss industrialist, a hydraulic work was carried out that created a jump of 10.5 meters that came to provide a power of 1000 CV. The textile factory began operating in 1899 and closed in 2008, it had its own train station, housing for workers, a church and a sports field.
