Mountain biking
Gargellen is the highest mountain village in the Montafon (1,423 meters). The paths between Austria and Switzerland were used by smugglers in the past, which is why the place is nicknamed "Smuggler's Village". Back then, coffee, wine or grain were smuggled across the border at Schlappiner Joch (2,201 meters) and some were brought to Munich.
