    Hiking

The lighthouse at the end of the world. The North Chin Peninsula is the North Cape of the mainland. There is a café as well as the possibility to stay overnight. I had fantastic nights there.

A cozy café and restaurant open daily from 12 noon to 8 pm in the summer (until August 29th in 2025). They serve fish, reindeer, and sweets. Souvenirs are also available, and the key to the lighthouse is available for 60 kroner. 142 steps lead up to the lamp.

    Hiking

A guest house at the end of the world. Here at the very end of Europe's mainland on the north-chin peninsula stands directly by the lighthouse the associated guest house in the old buildings of the lighthouse keeper. In addition to a café, there are 5 simple rooms that can be booked. I was lucky enough to stay there for a few days in 2016 and enjoyed the tranquility at this end of the world.

In addition to the incomparable tranquility, the region is also a wonderful hiking area.

What is the historical significance of Slettnes Lighthouse?

Slettnes Lighthouse holds significant historical importance as the northernmost mainland lighthouse on Earth. First lit in 1905, it aided navigation along the Arctic coast.
