Oberhaag is a very low-traffic connection between the Austrian Mühlviertel and the Czech South Bohemia (Jihočeský kraj). The Böhmerwald Landesstraße, as the road is called on the Austrian side, was drawn in the forest as if with a ruler and its construction was primarily for forestry reasons. The picture is similar in the Czech Republic: long straights. At the apex of the pass road is the Schwedenschanze, a late medieval protective wall to protect against invasions by Hussites, Swedes and Turks. From Aigen-Schlägl, the ascent with its ungracious three straights really gets down to business. They are drawn into the landscape as if with a ruler. The first straight crosses Diendorf, where the ascent exceeds the double-digit percentage for the first time and remains in this area up to the apex.

At the latest on the second straight one would like a few switchbacks from the planners of this street, but it remains a straight line. Shortly before the second curve, the ascent reaches its highest gradient of 14%. But it's not far from there.
