Unfortunately, the tunnel was buried after only a few meters.

The Gegenglück Stolln is a former mining facility in Johanngeorgenstadt. The mouth of the tunnel is right next to the Hohneujahrer Poch wash. The Gegenglück Stolln is located in the Lehmergrund and was driven into the Vorderen Fastenberg. The excavation began in 1694 and within a few years reached 600 meters of tunneling. In 1777 mining ended in the Gegenglück Stolln; 133 kilograms of silver could be mined in 83 years. The tunnel mouth hole that is preserved today was walled in 1862.

Between 1947 and 1951, the tunnel from object 01 of Wismut AG was used as a water dissolving tunnel. The maximum water drainage was 22.5 m3 / h. At the end of the 1940s, the adit was also examined by the geological department of object 01 without any uranium mineralization worthy of construction being found.

Not far from the Stollnmundloche was the hut or colliery, which was last used as a residential building and was demolished in 1955.

In 1750, Christian Gotthold Hoffmann made attempts with a metal burning mirror with a silver specimen from the Gegenglückstolln.
