In the country with Prince Eugene
As one of the largest and most magnificent mansions in the Habsburg Empire, Hof Palace was a glamorous stage for grandiose receptions and princely celebrations in the 18th century. But botany also played an important role in the life of Prinz Eugen. After a detailed revitalization of the palace ensemble, a unique total work of art from the Baroque era has been open to the public again since 2004 - and the prince's authentic garden world can be experienced in all its glory. The garden extends over seven terraces down to the March. Artfully planted carpet beds shine in bright colors, accurate hedges form enchanted niches and arcades. Fountains rush from the imposing fountains and the orangery shines in new splendor. In 2020 the 7th garden terrace was completed and the baroque garden enjoyment is now unfolding for all garden enthusiasts! The idyllic gardens of the Meierhof, on the other hand, appear rustic. A variety of useful, ornamental and medicinal plants thrive here, such as in the Weinviertler garden, snack garden, jam or herb garden. The east garden invites you to linger and turns out to be the ideal place for a picnic.
