Cycling

The district of Kerpen is located at approximately 430 m above sea level in the Volcanic Eifel Nature Park in the eastern part of the Hillesheim Limestone Basin in the Rudersbach valley, on the dolomite spur of the Höhenberg. Loogh is located at approximately 470 m above sea level in a stream valley between the Zapechlei and Hönselberg mountains. The district also includes the vineyard, where the reddish Kerpen marble is found, which was used, among other things, for the construction of Bonn Central Station and the Catholic parish church in Gey. Winegrowing was practiced on its southern slope.
