Obermaißen Chapel

Only recently restored chapel on the climb to Nebelstein.

On the way to the Nebelstein, in the upper part of Maißen ("Obermoass"), this small chapel was built after the town was founded.In 1979 this old chapel was renovated. Inside, until 1976, there were old reverse glass Stations of the Cross pictures, which unfortunately were kept in a house in Maißen during the renovation work and were destroyed by lightning as a result of a fire.Until 1771, Maißen belonged to the parish of St. Martin, from then on to the parish of Harbach, which was founded in the same year.
