This "Calvario", located south of Alajero, would be called "Kalvarienberg" in German-speaking countries. Calvary is so named to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which took place on "Golgotha" (translated: "height of the skull"). A Way of the Cross is almost always laid out, which leads up the Calvary with its - mostly XIV. - Stations.
PS: The "Kavallerieberg" (which Tofa refers to in his post) previously reproduced here in the highlight name is incorrect, so a change to the correct name was commissioned.
