The Buckow pilgrimage church was first mentioned in a document in 1344. At the end of the 14th century, a miracle of the host probably took place. 1401 put the Pope Boniface IX. issued a certificate of indulgence for Buckow and granted seven years of indulgence. A "great pilgrimage" led numerous pilgrims to "the holy blood" in Buckow, "which was kept in the small church at the altar close to the large barrier". Buckow was raised to the status of a place of pilgrimage.
