The beautiful old mill is called: Faddersbøl MølleSource: nationalparkthy.dk/oplev-nationalparken/sevaerdigheder/faddersboel-moelleTranslation Danish -> German:
Faddersbøl Mølle lies on the border between dune landscape and cultivated land. The mill was built in 1859 and is one of the few surviving old mills in Thy. Today you can find the tall white windmills that dot the landscape, taking advantage of the wind that the area is so rich in.Faddersbol MillRight here by the stream in Faddersbøl was a water mill that used the water that flowed south from Sjørring Sø. When the drainage of Sjørring Sø was tackled in 1859, wide canals were dug to drain the water. The water mill got in the way and was shut down. However, energy was still needed and the mill that we can visit today was built instead.Faddersbøl Mill is a so-called Dutch mill; as the name suggests, developed in the Netherlands, where the turbines drive the pumps in large drainage projects. Dutch windmills are designed so that the blades and hat can be turned and follow the direction of the wind while the windmill building itself is stationary. Large gears are used to turn the hat, while other wheels transmit power from the blades to the mills inside the mill building through an ingenious system.
