The Protestant church was built or renewed in Urspringen in the 19th century, directly above the so-called Bahra spring. In the Gothic style, the village church is particularly fascinating with its 4 small, massive side towers. Apparently there was a church there as early as around 1000, which is literally built on water, because the Bahra rises below it, which with 6000 liters per minute is the most water-rich source of the Rhön!
Around 900 the first people settled here because of this very source.

The building is really impressive and can be seen from afar!
