There has been an inn at this location since 1541. This inn has also had illustrious guests:
In 1632 the imperial general Albrecht v. Wallenstein (1583-1634 murdered) and his general Gottfried Heinrich Graf zu Pappenheim (1594-1632 mortally wounded).
The Prussian King Friedrich II also took a break in the old inn during the 7-year war (1756-1763) before the battle of Roßbach (5.11.1757).
