The votive chapel is dedicated to Maria SS. of Constantinople. The ancient painting was already defaced in 2005 and the chapel was in a state of complete abandonment. A recovery intervention involved both the external walls, painted red, similar to the original, and the interior. Here the intervention was a little too excessive, and in fact the original altar was covered with limestone, the internal walls painted in lime with floral motifs (which have nothing to do with the place) and a fret along the walls which doesn't suit. Furthermore, the original painting (or fresco) has been replaced by a canvas that has nothing to do with the ancient painting.
Externally, stone and wooden benches were placed for religious functions.
The initiative is certainly praiseworthy but, alas, without a minimum of historical research, we risk erasing what remains of the past.

Small votive shrine dedicated to Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, dating back to 1900, located on the old road that leads from Manduria to Oria, behind the Bonsignore pine forest.
Nearby there is a rudimentary Via Crucis and some benches.
Note the touch of religious syncretism, at the foot of the large cross located to the right of the chapel there is the writing INSHALLAH, the Arabic expression of 'If God wants', which expresses the hope of a believer that an event may happen in the future, can also mean 'God's will be done'.
