The Cavour Canal is a canal mainly used for irrigation which develops completely in the Piedmont region. It originates from the Po near Chivasso, east of Turin, and ends its journey in Ticino in Galliate (province of Novara). This canal is one of the most important in Italy, third in length and first in terms of water flow. Its function, together with other canals, is to supply water to the immense system of rice fields that develops between the Vercelli area, the Novara area and the Lomellina area.
