The church of Sant Andreu de Palomar is located in the Sant Andreu de Palomar district, today included in the Sant Andreu district of Barcelona. The temple was built in the late nineteenth century. In 1991 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi together with the Casa Asil de Sant Andreu, created in 1866 and linked to the parish. It is a work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

The parish that is currently in Plaça d'Orfila, in the district of Sant Andreu, stands on the space previously occupied by a Romanesque church from the 10th century.

In 1881, the expansion works of the church of Sant Andreu del Palomar were carried out; the result, a neo-gothic building that is a symbol of the history of the neighborhood and of Barcelona.

It was June 8, 1640 when the reapers left the old church of Sant Andreu del Palomar, a fact that would end up triggering the Corpus de Sang that gave rise to the War of the Reapers. The Romanesque church, consecrated to Sant Andreu in the 10th century, has seen centuries of the history of this ancient independent town pass before it. Finally, in 1881, the new neo-Gothic parish became a reality, decorated inside with large wall paintings representing the life of Saint Andrew.
