Since 1992, the old transformer house on the Schleißheimerstraße canal from the Isar-Amperwerke has been a nursery for young kestrels. In 1988 the former transformer house became the property of the State Association for Bird Protection. It was completely renovated in 2021. Around 100 birds of prey children have grown up here since 1992. Barn owls also raised their offspring in a nesting box from the pair of kestrels in the 2020 breeding season. Nesting boxes and an apiary hang on the tower-like building.
